Most thread tapes are combustible and pose a fire hazard when used in oxygen applications. This 3.5 mil high density PTFE sealant is the only one approved for oxygen use but may also be used for all water-oil-gas installations. The 1/2" wide X 260" long roll includes an outer rim to keep the tape from tangling. Thread tape should only be used on tapered pipe thread but never on compression or flare threads. Proper installation requires that some of the tape is left exposed so that code enforcement, OSHA and building inspectors can visually verify the correct tape was used.
